Tottenham Hotspur striker Son Heung-min, 30, has earned three honors for his performance in Europe's Champions League: player of the week, best goal and a spot on the competition's team of the week.

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) on Oct. 14 named Son the top player in the fourth round of the Champions League group stage.

Son on Oct. 13 scored two goals to lead his team to a 3-2 win Group D over Germany's Eintracht Frankfurt at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Tottenham was down 1-0 in the first half, but Son in the 20th minute received a pass from Harry Kane and tied the game with a right-footed shot. The Korean in the 36th minute took a cross from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to score with a left-footed volley to give his team a 3-1 lead.

UEFA also named Son to its team of the week. His second score against Eintracht earned the most fan votes for best goal of the week.

Tottenham leads Group D with seven points through two wins, a tie and a loss.

Star Son Heung-min of the English Premier League (EPL)'s Tottenham Hotspur has scored a hat-trick within 13 minutes after coming off the bench.

The striker on Sept. 17 led his team with three goals in a 6-2 home win over Leicester City in the eighth week of the EPL season at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Tottenham was ahead 3-2 in the 14th minute of the second half when Son replaced teammate Richarlison de Andrade. In the 28th minute of the half, Son scored his first goal of the season with a right-footed blast from mid-distance.

In the 39th minute of the second half, the striker received a pass from teammate Harry Kane and scored by switching from his right to left foot. Two minutes later, he completed his hat-trick with a right-footed shot with an assist from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Tottenham said Son's goals took just 13 minutes and 21 seconds.스포츠중계솔루션 He is the first player in the EPL to score a hat-trick as a sub since Everton's Steven Naismith in September 2015 in a game against Chelsea.

Son is also the first Spurs player to score a hat-trick as a substitute in an EPL game.

The striker had gone scoreless in his first eight games this season -- six league and two UEFA Champions League matches.

With his latest hat-trick, Son raised his EPL goal tally for his career from 93 to 96.

Several U.K. media praised his play. The BBC gave Son a rating of 9.39 and named him "Man of the Match."

The British soccer site Football London said, "Son Heung-min was the hero in Tottenham's 6-2 win over Leicester City as he netted a hat-trick off the bench."


President Yoon Suk-yeol awarded an order of merit to Tottenham Hotspur's South Korean forward Son Heung-min on Thursday in recognition of his achievement in sports.

The Cheongnyong read more ranks the highest among five medals that are awarded to an individual for their achievement in sports or their contribution to promoting national sports.

Son made history last month by becoming the first Asian player to win the scoring title in the Premier League.

"I believe this award is the result of your passion after having devoted yourself and worked endlessly for your team all season," Yoon wrote in a message to Son at the time. "(The title) is not only a personal honor for you but a joyous occasion to be celebrated by the entire Asian football community.
